Two decades on from its original release, the first Yu-Gi-Oh! movie is coming back with a new steelbook Blu-ray edition this summer. While details are scarce about the re-release, we do at least know it's planned to drop on August 20 for $30, and fans can secure their copy by preordering now on Amazon. Originally released in 2004, Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie--also known as Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light--takes place between Seasons 3 and 4 of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series. During a card duel with his rival Kaiba, Yugi and his friends are sucked into a pyramid controlled by the Egyptian Lord of the Dead, Anubis, whose magic turns the creatures from the card game into living monsters. The final cover art for the Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie steelbook Blu-ray edition has yet to be revealed, and it's unclear if there will be any other special features or bonus content included in this release, but the August 20 release date isn't far off, so those details are sure to be announced soon. In the meantime, you can preorder the movie at Amazon. If you're eager to get a copy of the movie immediately, you can grab a standard Blu-ray version for just $20 at Amazon. You'll be missing out on the steelbook case--and any other additional content included with the new upcoming version--but it's eligible for Prime shipping, so it'll arrive quickly. If you're looking for more new anime releases, the latest Digimon movie, Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning is also up for preorder along with the show's complete second season on Blu-ray. You can also preorder steelbook Blu-ray editions of Evangelion: Thrice upon a Time and Studio Ghibli's The Boy and the Heron. Meanwhile, the final par of Ash Ketchum's Pokemon arc Pokemon: Ultimate Journeys, is coming to DVD. And let's not forget that the Berserk: Golden Age films are getting a new Memorial Edition Blu-ray collection that includes all three movies in one package. More Anime Preorders

Cuphead Delicious Last Course Art Book Has Never-Before-Seen Content, Limited Edition Up For Preorder
by GameSpot - All Content | May 24, 2024 at 10:59 pm

One of the best video game art books is getting a long-awaited follow-up later this year. The Art of Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course will be published by Dark Horse Books on October 22. The original Cuphead art book is a stunning companion for the base game, as it beautifully captures the painstaking process of animating a game designed to look like a 1930s-era cartoon. And now, Cuphead's lone expansion is receiving the same treatment. Two editions of The Art of Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course are available to preorder at Amazon, including a gorgeous limited edition for Cuphead superfans. You'll also soon be able to get an inside look at the making of Netflix's The Cuphead Show. The Art of Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course is a 272-page oversized hardcover focused exclusively on Cuphead's brilliant 2022 DLC (Delicious Last Course). The book takes fans on a frame-by-frame journey through the expansion's seven bosses and The King's Leap challenge arena. Delicious Last Course also introduced Ms. Chalice as a playable character and numerous new NPCs who will likely be featured in this art book. If you've played Cuphead, you know the level of detail on display in each of the game's inventive boss battles. The DLC actually has as many frames of animation as the base game, despite it only comprising about 25% of the full Cuphead experience. The Art of Cuphead, which focuses on the base game, is a fascinating, must-have book for fans, so we'd expect The Art of Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course to provide a similarly insightful look inside Studio MDHR's creative process. Along with frame-by-frame animation of the bosses you can find in The Delicious Last Course, this book contains early concept art as well as unused ideas. With Amazon's preorder price guarantee, you'll get The Art of Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course for the lowest price offered between the time you order and release. If you haven't checked out the art book for the base game, you can save about $20 off its list price at Amazon. For the extremely enthusiastic Cuphead fans (me), Dark Horse is releasing a limited edition version of the book. The Deluxe Edition comes with a mint-green foil slipcase, a foldout portfolio case containing a trio of acetate cells, and an attached ribbon bookmark. This limited-edition set matches the Deluxe Edition for the aforementioned Art of Cuphead book. Fair warning: The Art of Cuphead Deluxe Edition has only been available to purchase from third-party sellers for years at this point--it truly was "limited." As such, if you're interested in the fancy version of the new book, we'd recommend preordering The Art of Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course Deluxe Edition as soon as possible. It's currently listed for $95 (was $100) at Amazon. It's worth noting that the The Art of Cuphead Deluxe Edition received fairly substantial discounts leading up to its release, so locking in your preorder now will allow you to take advantage of any future discounts before October 22. You won't be charged for your preorder until the book ships. You can also preorder The Art of Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course Deluxe Edition at Target. It's currently at the full $100 price, but Target does list the release date as October 8, so you could possibly get the book sooner. The Art of The Cuphead Show offers an in-depth look at the creation of Netflix's awesome animated series that ran for three seasons. The 256-page book includes exclusive production art, character designs, animatics, and commentary from the writers and designers responsible for adapting Studio MDHR's cartoon-inspired game into an actual cartoon. The Art of The Cuphead show releases September 3 and is available to preorder for $50.

Get Three Awesome Switch Games On A Single Cartridge With This New Collection
by GameSpot - All Content | May 24, 2024 at 10:57 pm

Three excellent indie games made by Doinksoft Studio—Gato Roboto, Gunbrella, and Demon Throttle—are getting a special physical collection on Nintendo Switch appropriately dubbed The Doinksoft Collection. The $35 collection launches on August 30, but you can preorder a copy now at multiple online retailers. The Doinksoft collection bundles three action-packed games on a single cartridge, and all of them are a good fit for the Switch's mobile-centric design. First up is Gato Roboto. You're a cute cat piloting a cozy armored mech in this game, a metroidvania with stylish monochromatic visuals. As you trek through an alien underworld full of irritable creatures and treacherous obstacles, you'll get closer to rescuing your stranded captain and salvaging his crashed spaceship. You'll need to blast and dash through dangerous terrain, as well as venture outside the mech and risk all nine lives to access areas and uncover cool secrets. Gunbrella will see you engage in side-scrolling action as you use the lethal rain-deflecting tool to glide, swing, dash, and shoot your way through people who are out for your head. A gritty noir-punk action-adventure game with heaps of fun platforming, you'll also interrogate bizarre characters on your quest for answers in this thrilling game. Finally, Demon Throttle tells the story of a beautiful vampiress and dusty gunslinger on a quest for vengeance. A demon has been up to no good and has wronged both of the unlikely partners, and revenge calls for a violent assault on that fiend's domain. Interestingly, Demon Throttle was only available as a physical Switch game, so this is a fresh chance to play Demon Throttle and experience its arcade action in case you missed its limited release the first time around. For more game deals, you can grab a preorder for the Nintendo World Championships Deluxe Edition, save up to 50% on physical PS5, Xbox, or Switch games at Best Buy, and secure a hard-to-find Metaphor: ReFantazio's Collector's Edition preorder now that it's back in stock--at least for now.
