Gift Idea For Dad: New 4K Collection With Comedy Classics Airplane, Naked Gun, And Top Secret

When it comes to satirical comedies, few films are as iconic and memorable as those produced by Jim Abrahams and brothers David and Jerry Zucker. The trio set the gold standard for comedy spoofs with films like Airplane, Top Secret!, and The Naked Gun, and soon you can grab all three of those classic movies in a new 4K Blu-ray release aptly titled ZAZ: The Collection. Preorders for the $50 collection are live at Amazon ahead of its November 19 release date. The collection includes the original Airplane, Top Secret, and The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad all remastered in 4K. The box set also includes standard Blu-ray versions and digital streaming codes for each movie. They might be a few decades old at this point, but all three films are still some of the best comedies ever made. Airplane got the ball rolling for ZAZ, as it parodied the disaster movie genre and delivered some of the best one-liners in cinematic history. Starring Leslie Nielsen as a doctor who was constantly called Shirley, Airplane also had glue-sniffing airplane tower supervisors, a granny fluent in jive, and memes that are still being used in social media posts to this day. A few years alter, the world was gifted with Top Secret. Starring Val Kilmer as a rock star who finds himself on the wrong side of the Iron Curtain, there are jokes for days in this movie and surprisingly catchy musical bops. Best of all, you won't even have to know a little German to understand it, but it does help. Lastly, the first Naked Gun is still one of the best parodies of all time. Nielsen had already appeared as the bumbling police lieutenant Frank Drebin on the Police Squad TV show, and the feature film saw him set out to foil an assassination plot involving mind control. You can preorder ZAZ: The Collection! for $50 at Amazon and Target. More ZAZ movies and TV series Blu-ray dealsIf you don't feel like waiting for the collection, you can also get each of the included movies individually on Blu-ray, including a 35th Anniversary 4K UDH edition of Naked Gun that's on sale for $25 (was $31). If you want to add more comedies to your Blu-ray shelf, there are also sequel films to Naked Gun and Airplane to pick up, as well as the ZAZ trio's original Police Squad TV series. Check out a selection of ZAZ Blu-ray deals below.
