Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” got a “Mario Paint” remix!
Someone used their creative genius (annnd possible lack of Saturday night plans? No judgement!) to recreate Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky” on “Mario Paint”! Wait, ummm, I’m sorry, did you just say you don’t know what “Mario Paint” is?! Well, sit right there while I tell you a little story about a video game from a far off land called 1992.
See, before all these fancy-pants 3-D video game thingy-majiggies existed, people had to get their kicks on — GASP — 2-D games like “Maria Paint“! Now, M.P. (ahem, that’s what some of us early gamers called it ) came with all different types of challenges, one of which let you create songs using sound effects made by characters, items, and bad guys from classic Mario Brothers games. Kinda makes you wish we lived in a simpler time, eh? EH???
Watch the “Mario Paint” version of Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” after the jump!
Except here’s the thing: Creating legit music using “Mario Paint” was REALLY HARD. No, really, like, creating “Hot Cross Buns” and making it actually sound like “Hot Cross Buns” would be like making Justin Bieber sound like Ariana Grande. Just, no. So the fact that YouTube-er Jeonghoon 95 took on Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” using “Mario Paint” a) makes us believe in reincarnation because b) only a musician with Mozart’s soul and Steve Job’s technological ingenuity could capture such epic audio beauty through the oh-so- sweet toot of a Koopa Troopa.
Now everyone, slap on your overalls and DO THE MARIO to this jam!
Excuse us while we get our plumber outfits to dance this ish out!
