Chaos Rings II slated for iOS on March 15

The sequel to Chaos Rings will cost 2,000 yen and 2,200 yen for the iPhone and the iPad, respectively.

The last time gamers heard of the Chaos Rings series from developer Media Vision (of Wild Arms fame) was back in 2011, when Chaos Rings Omega was met with positive reception for its engaging storyline and minor gameplay improvements.

Now, mobile RPG fans in Japan who are clamouring for a true sequel to the game can look forward to March 15, as Chaos Rings II is scheduled to launch for iOS on the Japanese online iTunes store.

The iPhone and iPod Touch version will cost 2,000 yen (approximately A$23), while the iPad version will set gamers back 2,200 yen (approximately A$25). Chaos Rings II is set in a different universe from the first game and will feature the game's trademark turn-based combat system. The iOS title also features the theme song "Celestial Diva" by singer Minori Chihara, who is known for voicing Yuki Nagato from the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya series, along with other anime and J-pop projects since 2004.

A North American release date has yet to be confirmed. For more information on the first Chaos Rings, check out GameSpot's review.
