So, we already know that Lady Gaga is the music world’s queen of pop cultural references, from her various Grace Jones-meets-David Bowie style moments to the Hitchcock allusions in the lyrics of “Bad Romance” — oh, and shout-out to “reverse Warholian expeditions,” duh.

But with this latest Instagram that the “Applause” singer posted yesterday, we’re beginning to wonder if she’s starting to sprinkle some of Japanese pop star Kyary Pamyu Pamyu into her postmodern potpourri. Obvs, Gaga has been rocking her hair bow for years now, but there’s something about the styling and stuffed animal “Swine” that we just can’t put our finger on… But we think it involves a plot for world domination. Just go with us on this one.
