Iggy Azalea and her Grand Hustle homies T.I. and B.o.B. help her on 'M.D.M (Million Dollar Misfits).'
It was only a matter a time after (sort of) signing with a major label, and apparently a modeling agency, that Grand Hustle's Iggy Azalea would slip more into the traditional female dance-pop-rap lane that we're all so comfortable with. And so it begins with the cover art to her upcoming Glory EP, which I literally have nothing to say about. So let's get to her new single, "Million Dollar Misfits" or "M.D.M" for short (Acronyms are hot right now. We call that 'millennial spin' in the music blog biz.) On this one, Iggy gets some assistance from pop-rap extraordinaire Bobby Ray and her CEO Cliff, probably better known as B.o.B and T.I. respectively.

Credit goes to producer Bei Maejor (featured earlier this week for his song "Pillz") who's able to pull this one back from full-on Flo Rida and Mike Posner pop ubiquity and let's these guys flex for a few bars. (Mike Posner is featured on the EP BTW, natch.) But really, Maejor has always been good at finding the right balance. The way this feels like a traditional synth-pop tune but ends up being something different reminds me of this Cataracs and Waka Flocka song from a few weeks ago I forgot to write about, which is pretty good. The rapping on "M.D.M" is better though. This Grand Hustle team is shaping up quite nicely.
