Third game from Chair Entertainment coming to App Store on September 18 for $7.
Today during Apple’s press event at the company’s headquarters, Chair Entertainment announced Infinity Blade III, the third entry in the popular mobile action series.
Infinity Blade III will be available on the App Store on September 18 for $7. It will leverage the iPhone 5S’ new 64-bit A7 chip and OpenGL ES 3.0 to “once again completely redefine the boundaries of mobile gaming.”
“We’re so proud of Infinity Blade III and feel it not only offers a powerful finale to the series, but also gives mobile gaming another giant push forward,” Chair Entertainment cofounder and creative director Donald Mustard said in a statement.
Infinity Blade III runs on the Unreal Engine and will tell a story of “honor, love, betrayal, and redemption.” Gamers will play as hero Siris and female warrior-thief Isa. Both characters will have “unique” combat styles and “hundreds” of collectible weapons and items.
Infinity Blade III will be compatible with the just-announced iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, as well as the iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad mini, iPod Touch 5, and iPod Touch 4.
Infinity Blade: Dungeons, which was announced during an Apple iPad event in March 2012, was canceled earlier this year. The entire Infinity Blade franchise has made more than $30 million.
