Raven-Symoné Is All Grown Up… And IN ‘SISTER ACT’!

We can't think of a SINGLE THING that's more raven than former "Cosby Show" cutie Raven-Symoné joining the cast of the Broadway show "Sister Act" as nightclub-singer-turned-nun Deloris Van Cartié. Lest you think this is Raven's first rodeo, allow us to school you: Raven's graced a Broadway stage before. In her very early days, at the age of 5 (during the Olivia years!), she did a guest appearance with “The Boys Choir of Harlem.” But she considers this her FOR REALZ debut. Directed by Whoopi Goldberg, Raven begins her six-month run in the show on March 27. She'll be (back) in the habit, taking over for the Tony Award-nominated Patina Miller in the role originated by Whoopi in the film version of the show. CONVENTional!

The musical's plot is faithful to the movie: A nightclub singer accidentally witnesses a murder by her crime boss boyfriend and flees to a convent to hide.

With four albums and four soundtracks under her belt, the lead in a Broadway musical will be a piece of cake for this Cheetah Girl. The real question: Can she fill Lauryn Hill's shoes? We don't even have to channel the psychic energy of "That's So Raven"'s Raven Baxter to know she can AND she'll be Fabulous, Baby! Do you want to see the Disney Channel star's Broadway debut?
