Insomniac Games rebrands four-player shooter, schedules Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 project to arrive early next year.
Insomniac Games' four-player shooter Overstrike has been renamed Fuse, the developer announced today. The company also revealed a launch window for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game, slating it to arrive during March 2013.
Fuse is the first multiplatform game from Insomniac Games, creators of the Sony-exclusive Ratchet & Clank and Resistance franchises. The game was announced during Electronic Arts' 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo and will be published by that company.
The story for Fuse goes that the United States government has spent many years experimenting with a secret alien substance called fuse, which when combined with earthly materials, is used to create devastating weaponry. A rogue paramilitary organization elects to steal the fuse technology, and a task force (the player) is called in to track it down.
