Fade to Black Films has optioned the best-selling graphic novel, “Whore”, from Big City Comics Studio to be developed as a cable series. The property was picked up at this year’s Comic-Con. Project is currently in development and is being prepped to go to market.
“Whore” tells the story of its lead protagonist, Mars, is a “selfish, self-indulgent, semihomicidal narcissist,” an assassin downsized from the CIA and forced to scramble to maintain his overpriced lifestyle by taking on dubious free-lance assignments.
Big City Comics Studio is well known in the comic book world for its popular titles, “Terminal Alice” and “Angel Falling”.
Oren Kamara, Josh Elliott, and Fade to Black Films will produce along with writer/owner Jeff Kaufman from Big City Comics.
Jeffrey Kaufman is founder of Big City Comics Studios, and has written dozens of comics. Kaufman’s credits include the graphic novels Whore and Terminal Alice (published through Zenescope Entertainment), as well as “The Con” a Big City Comics exclusive, and 34 single issue books including Tempest, Totem, Dragon Cross, Omega One and Image’s Ant.
In addition, Kaufman is a nationally recognized legal expert and defense attorney, featured on CNN, MSNBC, FOX News and truTV’s Disorder in the Court: 20 Most Outrageous Courtroom Moments.
