Warner Bros. is working on a live-action digital series inspired by upcoming fighting game, Mortal Kombat X, the publisher has announced. Unfortunately, Warner Bros. isn't sharing much in the way of specifics about the series, only saying that it will highlight "some of the franchise's most storied characters, while introducing a new generation of fighters." The untitled Mortal Kombat series is in production at Blue Ribbon Content, a newly created division of Warner Bros. that is responsible for developing and producing short-form content. Warner Bros. did not share any details regarding the talent associated with the untitled Mortal Kombat live-action series. We also don't yet know when it will debut or how you'll be able to watch it. Mortal Kombat X the game launches April 14, 2015 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. The Mortal Kombat X digital series follows another live-action program based on the acclaimed fighting franchise called Mortal Kombat Legacy. Warner Bros. is not the only game-maker involved with such projects, as Microsoft has partnered with Alien director Ridley Scott for Halo: Nightfall. Got a news tip or want to contact us directly?
