2. Dying Light

Spock’s death in Star Trek II has him shot out in a photon torpedo coffin … only to land in the zombie-infested ocean of Harran? Probably not, but the new game's odd homage to Spock carries extra poignancy with its eerie timing.

3. Star Trek: 25th Anniversary

In keeping with Spock’s views on violence, most puzzles in this adventure game for the NES eschew combat, focusing on more thoughtful solutions. For such an early title, it truly captures the spirit of the series.

4. Minecraft

Much like the Internet’s notorious rule 34, if you can imagine it, someone’s built it in Minecraft. But this to-scale fan replica of the USS Enterprise NCC 1071 looks like a true labor of love, and a wonderful send-off to Spock.

5. Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep

With a story even more convoluted than Spock’s alternate reality ret-conning in the recent films, Kingdom Hearts is still a great showcase for Nimoy’s voice talents as the villain Master Xehanort. Feel the darkness!

6. Star Trek: Judgment Rites

As a landmark PC game in the mid-nineties, Judgment Rites picks up right where the 25th anniversary adventure game left off. Never before have Spock’s chess playing skills proved so oddly invaluable.

7. Sid Meier’s Civilization IV

Nimoy’s voice is a natural fit for a game about improving technology and advancing the course of human progress. As the great Vulcan vociferates, “One man in his time plays many parts."

8. Seaman

One of the most bizarre games ever made also features Nimoy as a narrator, who coaches you through raising your very own creep-faced fish man, with which you communicate through a microphone. If you stare into its eyes, you’re guaranteed night terrors.

9. Star Trek Bridge Commander

This super absorbing Star Trek game creates a realistic simulation of a captain discharging orders and combatting an enemy fleet. A fantastic fan mod enlists Spock to serve by your side.

10. Iron Brigade

Double Fine gives Leonard Nimoy the double-fingered salute with their Tiki Mask upgrade. This third person mech-action title has little in common with Spock, making the reference most illogical, but still appreciated.

11. Star Trek: The Rebel Universe

A game that reaches for greatness, but falls short due to those damnable catastrophe pods! It’s still notable as one of the first games (in 1987) to feature Nimoy’s full likeness in glorious sprite art.

12. Atlantis: The Lost Empire

During the lost age of the 3D platformer, Atlantis stood comfortably among its peers. It even featured full cut scenes from the Disney film, including Nimoy’s perfect performance as the forlorn King Kashekim.

13. Star Trek Pinball

While The Next Generation claims the most famous pinball game, this earlier machine from Data East featured the original crew of the Enterprise with the sultry science officer front and center.
