[THIS POST CONTAINS SOME UNCHARTED SPOILERS] Uncharted hero Nathan Drake's half-tuck is arguably his greatest and most enduring fashion statement. Now we've learned that this was no accident. Sony Worldwide Studios development head Scott Rohde said as part of the PlayStation Blogcast that the half-tuck was part of developer Naughty Dog's original pitch for 2007's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. "They talked a ton about Nathan Drake himself," Rohde recalled. "And there was a big deal about the un-tuck; the half-tuck. Back then, when [the Uncharted franchise] was just an idea, the half-tuck was a part of it all the time." Asked if he thought the half-tuck was central to Nathan Drake as a character, Rohde said, "It totally is." Early in Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, there is flashback mission where you play as a young Nathan Drake. You may recall that adolescent Nathan Drake was wearing a half-tucked three-quarter style t-shirt with maroon-colored sleeves. This was the original clothing concept for Nathan Drake. "There's a reason he's wearing that," Rohde said. "It's because, in the original prototype demos of Nathan Drake, he was wearing that shirt. That was going to be his main outfit--that three-quarter baseball tee...with the half-tuck." Naughty Dog eventually settled on different, more rugged get-up for Nathan Drake. Nathan Drake's next outing is the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, a PlayStation 4 bundle that comes with remastered versions of the first three games. The bundle launches in October and includes access to the Uncharted 4: A Thief's End multiplayer beta.
