Welcome to Buzzworthy's "The Week In Pop," where we round up new album releases, talk show musical guests, and TV performances by your favorite pop stars and more (so you don't have to).
This week, Meek Mill drops his debut studio album (watch him freestyle on "RapFix Live"), and Calvin Harris takes us to the club with his latest dance-driven set. Meanwhile, Cody ChesnuTT reemerges with a new album, Andrew Bird releases his second album of the year, and Thrice says goodbye with a live record. Also, to get you in the holiday spirit a little early (and when are we not up for celebrating the holidays?), Cee Lo Green brings us his Magic Moment, and an eclectic array of pop stars release Holidays Rule. There's plenty to tune in to on TV this week as well. The 46th Annual Country Music Awards airs Thursday on ABC where nominees and performers include Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift, and others. Plus, fun. kicks it live as the musical guest on "Saturday Night Live."
NEW ALBUM RELEASES
+ Meek Mill, Dreams & Nightmares: This is the Rick Ross/Maybach Music Group protégé's debut studio album. The recent PUSH artist told "RapFix Live" he loves to collabo, and he's not joking: A good dozen-plus guests and producers worked on this record. Listen to the 25-year-old Philadelphian spitter's smooth grooving "Maybach Curtains" featuring Nas, John Legend, and Rozay. Also check out the NSFW club-ready "Young & Gettin' It" with Kirko Bangz, which is about exactly what you think it's about (title says it all).
+ Calvin Harris, 18 Months: The Scottish DJ/producer has had a busy couple years (you may recall his megahit with Rihanna, "We Found Love"; it's included on this record). He was also the official house mixmaster at the 2012 MTV VMAs, and released the new album in exactly 18 months (we see what he did there!). Check out the awesome synth-stomp of "I Need Your Love" with Ellie Goulding and "Sweet Nothing" with Florence Welch. Calvin also recruited Ne-Yo ("Let's Go") and Kelis ("Bounce"), among others.
+ Cee Lo Green, Cee Lo's Magic Moment: The "Voice" coach brings us some holiday cheer a couple months early with his Christmas album. Check out the classic "Baby, It's Cold Outside," a duet with his "Voice" costar Christina Aguilera, and listen to his R&B-inflected version of "This Christmas." He and Rod Stewart take on "Merry Christmas, Baby" and The Muppets (!!) join Cee for an original track called "All I Need Is Love."

+ Cody ChesnuTT, Landing On A Hundred: It's been a while since we heard from the Southern soul crooner/guitarist. In fact, it's been nearly a decade since his debut album dropped, which included the The Roots rework, "The Seed 2.0." On Landing, Cody peruses deep topics in the social consciousness arena. And while the subject matter may get heavy, the 12 tracks swing with horns and other orchestrations courtesy of his backing band. Check out the soulful "Til I Met Thee" and the itchily rhythmic funk of "I've Been Life."
+ Various Artists, Holidays Rule: We'll cosign on the album's title and throw in some big ups to whomever assembled the set's awesome array of artists. The diverse lineup includes fun. ("Sleigh Ride"), The Shins ("Wonderful Christmastime"), Paul McCartney ("The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)"), Rufus Wainwright with Sharon Van Etten ("Baby, It's Cold Outside"), and many others.
+ Andrew Bird, Hands Of Glory: No one can accuse Andrew Bird of being unambitious. A counterpart to his Break It Yourself album, this is Andrew's second album of 2012. On Hands Of Glory he offers a few updated versions of songs previously seen on his lauded Break It Yourself plus an array of covers by Townes Van Zandt, The Handsome Family, and The Carter Family.
+ Thrice, Anthology: After 15 years together, Thrice are calling it quits for now. The Californian punk-tinged quartet performed a lengthy farewell tour, which ended this summer. This 24-song set is culled from their final tour and includes their full set recorded at different locales throughout their last outing, along with live photos from the multi-date run.
