Cryptozoic Entertainment and AMC Announce Final Days of The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary Kickstarter Campaign
Only about 72 hours Left to Pledge for the Board Game Based on AMC’s Hit TV Series
Lake Forest, CA – July 29, 2016 – Time is running out to join the struggle to survive in a world of The Walking Dead, where it’s the living who might be the biggest threat of all! Cryptozoic Entertainment ( cryptozoic.com), leading creator of board games, trading cards, and collectibles, and AMC announce the final days of the Kickstarter campaign for The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary, a miniatures-based board game.
The campaign will end on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 8:00pm Pacific Time. That leaves slightly more than 72 hours for new backers to join the campaign or for current contributors to add to their pledges. These final days represent the last chance to get the game with the various extras that are exclusive to the Kickstarter campaign, including certain miniature figures, scenarios, game cards, map tiles, and more.
The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary campaign was successfully funded and has received pledges in excess of $299,000 so far. This becomes the latest successful Kickstarter for Cryptozoic, following three previous blockbuster campaigns. Backers are upgrading their games by purchasing add-ons that will never be offered again and have already unlocked a plethora of exclusive stretch goals, including: 10 additional Crawling Walkers, Vision of Lori, Sasha, and The Governor.
After the campaign ends this Monday, Cryptozoic will begin the process of finishing design work on the game and preparing it for an expected ship date of July 2017.
About The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary
A unique take on the survival horror game genre, the board game allows 1-4 players to enter AMC’s The Walking Dead and take on a multitude of different enemies—both dead and alive—all with their own distinctive motivations and ways of moving around the board. The game includes the characters played by Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes), Steven Yeun (Glenn Rhee), Laurie Holden (Andrea Harrison), and, of course, Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon)! This is the miniatures game The Walking Dead fans have been waiting for, with over 30 highly detailed and realistic walker and survivor figures. Gameplay utilizes over 200 printed cards—including Event Cards, Search Cards, and Location Cards—that create varying scenarios in conjunction with the 12 double-sided map tiles, which highlight memorable areas from the show. It tells the story of the months and years that follow an apocalypse, as a group of survivors—led by police officer Rick Grimes—travel in search of a safe and secure home. The series, which has been heralded by critics as “an honest-to-God phenomenon” (Variety), “relentless and provocative” (Orlando Sentinel), and “brilliantly engaging” (TheHollywoodNews.com), is executive produced by showrunner Scott M. Gimple, Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert, Greg Nicotero, and Tom Luse. The series returns for its seventh season on October 23 on AMC.
