Late last year Wicked Cool Toys made the announcement that they had picked up the Teddy Ruxpin license. Several of us went to their booth at Toy Fair back in February to see how they were going to update the classic toy only to be told there was nothing to see for their development of that classic toy yet.
Last night on QVC as part of their annual “Christmas in July” show that debuts new products Wicked Cool Toys debuted their new Cabbage Patch Kids 14″ Animated Baby So Real Doll. Watching this video might just give us insight into some of the features and functionality of the upcoming Teddy Ruxpin re-launch.
But on it’s own, just as a Cabbage Patch Kid update it’s also pretty cool. The updates feature LCD eyes with 30 different expressions, interactive internal sensors to feed, tickle, change diaper, take medicine, talk, react and more. There is also a free app that add further connectivity and interaction.
Check out the video below and see the new technology that has been fused with the classic cabbage Pack doll in what will most likely be a very “hot” holiday item.
Yesterday on his personal Facebook page, Wicked Cool Toys co-founder Jeremy Padwar announced:
Dear Friends. Late last night on QVC, we launched what is certainly the most technologically advanced and most amazing item of our careers with Cabbage Patch Kids Baby So Real. She took so many people and so much hard work from a truly global team to bring to life in a spectacular way. It’s a game changer. We believe it could be the toy of the year. Watch for this one at TRU, Walmart, Target, Kmart, Amazon and more!!
We love innovative, interactive technology and we welcome our new robotic Cabbage Patch Overlords.
