Carly Rae Jepsen tops MTV's Best Songs Of 2012 list!
Remember how yesterday we told you that MTV had named the top ten songs of 2012, including tracks like One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful," The Wanted's "Glad You Came, and Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together"? Then we had to wait a few extra hours to find out who earned the last two slots? Well, the wait has officially ended: fun.'s "We Are Young" was awarded the No. 2 spot last night, leaving No. 1 open for Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe"! Bet Scooter Braun's not upset about those Justin Bieber Grammy snubs anymore, eh?

You know how much we love fun.'s track ('cause the "young" trend certainly took over this year, between Ke$ha's "Die Young" and 1D's "Live While We're Young"), but we can't say we're super surprised at Carly Rae Jepsen's win -- you could barely refuel (or wash) your car this year without hearing "Call Me Maybe." Or go to the grocery store. Or the nail salon. Or your cousin's bat mitzvah. Or...you get the idea. We also spent the entire summer watching "Call Me Maybe" YouTube lip-synch spoofs by everyone from Katy Perry and Justin Bieber to Cookie Monster and the U.S. Olympic swim team. Normally a song that catchy gets old after a few tries, but NO ONE GOT TIRED OF IT. We're not even mad that we're not tired of it! Our roommates are ready to kick us out because we're still singing it the shower (TMI?)! (Except not really, because obviously they love it too.)
Congrats, Carly! You earned it!
