Avril Lavigne and her band hit the studio... wearing ENORMOUS glasses.

We're not sure what we're more excited about -- the fact that Avril Lavigne and her band seem to own the most romantic collection of glasses, or the fact that she's back in the studio WORKING ON A NEW RECORD! (Avril reunited with L.A. Reid and signed with Epic Records in November 2011, and we've been patiently waiting for the follow-up to Goodbye Lullaby ever since.) Actually, we're just going to allow ourselves to flip out about both things. Because we're generous.

The "What The Hell" singer tweeted this photo of herself and her band making a spectacle of themselves (wordplay!) along with the caption "Working our asses off tonight in the studio! Hhahahahaha. Work hard, play hard!"

Is it just us, BandAids, or are Avril's heart-shaped shades giving anyone else an Elton John vibe? What if the band's working on an edgier, Avril-er version of Elton's "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" for her next album?! Um, LOVE it.
