AFi Early Look – DC Signature Collection Saint Walker

Saint Walker is feeling blue… and that’s good news for the universe! The first Blue Lantern truly believes in the power of hope, and uses his unwavering faith to bring positive change, give new life to dying suns, and fight evil wherever it arises. This fully articulated figure comes with his Blue Lantern power battery.

The first figure of the 2013 DC Club Infinite Earths Signature Collection figure will be Blue Lantern leader Saint Walker.  Saint Walker is the third Blue Lantern we have gotten in the line.  The first being Blue Lantern Flash in the DCUC line, and the second, Blue Lantern Kyle Rayner that was in a recent Toys R Us exclusive 2-pack.

Saint Walker uses the thin buck that we have seen with characters like the Creeper and Deadman.  That includes the added articulation in the wrists, double elbows, double knees and even has an added swivel point on his head tentacle thing.

Saint Walker comes with one accessory – his blue lantern battery.  The lantern battery is reused from the previous GL figures, and the handle on it is not accurate (as you can see on the painting on the package), but better to reuse than have no battery at all.

2013 sees a revamp in the packaging for the DC Signature Series.  This year Mattel incorporates the new DC “peel back” logo and design in all the packaging.  The package still sports a painting of the character on the side and back as well as a bio for the subject on the back.

I wasn’t a big fan of the announcement of Saint Walker in the DCSC subscription.  He felt to me like a figure that was already in the works before the retail line was scrubbed that was sort of shoe-horned into the subscription.  However his recent appearances on the rebooted DC Nation Green Lantern the Animated Series has caused his character to grow on me a bit and I’m happier to have him in my collection.

Saint Walker will shipped to subscribers this week and will be available for “day of” sales on January 15th, 2013.
