There are few artists more tailor-made for MTV's iconic "Unplugged" institution than Florence + The Machine. The inimitable British baroque-pop chanteuse earned a spot on everyone’s iPods and best-of lists with the release of her soaring 2008 single, "Dog Days Are Over.” And Florence Welch’s star has only continued to rise since.
Watch a sneak peek of Florence + The Machine's upcoming "Unplugged" special, presented by State Farm, with a full-length clip of “Cosmic Love," the sixth single from their debut album, Lungs. Florence belts out her tale of a love gone wrong, while a choir, a string section, and a harp make the performance of the already-poignant song even more haunting. It also doesn't hurt that Florence's "Unplugged" was shot at the historic Angel Orensanz Center, a former gothic revival synagogue in New York's Lower East Side and one of the prettiest places we've ever seen.
And don’t miss "MTV Unplugged: Florence + The Machine," in its entirety on Sunday, April 8 at 11 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com.
