Bruno Mars goes '70s retro (for a change) in his "When I Was Your Man" video.
We'll never forget falling into a tearful fit of hysterics after hearing Bruno Mars' brand-new single "When I Was Your Man," aka the latest cut from Bruno's Unorthodox Jukebox album. Well, now we're feeling pleased (and a little wary -- got our tissue boxes at the ready) because Bruno's ballad now has its own (fantastically retro) video, and even though there's not much in the way of plot, prepare to have your false lashes fall off your eyes like raindrops and your eyes go puffy from bawling. Because it's still VERY HEARTBREAKING.
Watch Bruno Mars' "When I Was Your Man" video after the jump.
Filmed as a straight up performance video, "When I Was Your Man" features a dapper Bruno sitting at a piano and mournfully singing about the one who got away. Shot with a hazy, '70s-inspired technicolor filter (this is "Soul Train," people), the video's DIY vibe only adds to the overall sense of melancholy radiating through the clip. And sure, even though Bruno is sad, it doesn't stop him from rocking an afro, Earth-toned suit, and some tricked-out mirrored sunglasses and having a sip or three from a glass of (what we've presumed to be) expensive, aged whiskey. Damn Bruno, this girl really effed you up, didn't she? Well, at least you have your Grammy nomination and upcoming Rihanna and Sting duet to take your mind off things.
