As Borderlands 3 has made abundantly clear in its marketing material, there are a lot of guns to collect. Whether earned from side missions or simply dropped by a charging bandit, there are plenty of fun weapons to get your hands on. Some are your basic assault rifle, shotgun, or pistol with a cool paint job while others offer way more over-the-top functionality.

The team at GameSpot has sunk dozens of hours into the game so far and have discovered plenty of guns from brands DAHL, Hyperion, XOV, Vladof, Torgue, Maliwan, Atlas, and Tediore in our respective playthroughs. Below you can find some the wildest guns we've found, as well as details on their stats and other peculiarities.

If you've never been a fan of the franchise, it's unlikely Borderlands 3 does enough things differently to change your mind, as the game best excels at continuing what the series has always done: deliver a humorous tall tale of misfits looting and shooting their way to heroism."

Venomous Ripper

A DAHL submachine gun that deals more damage after it feeds on the blood of your victims.

Hazardous Trevonator

A Maliwan shotgun that's ideal for close-range combat against armored targets.

Eridian Fabricator

An Eridian shotgun that allows you to create a never-ending supply of loot--provided you have the Eridium to spare.

Stuffed Quadamizer

A Torgue rocket launcher that fires a volley of radiation rockets, then corrosive rockets, and then incendiary rockets before having to reload; three types of damage for three times the fun.

Expert Storm

A Maliwan sniper rifle that creates storm clouds with its shots that can continue to shock surrounding enemies--so don't worry about missing the headshot, just get close enough.

Smart-Gun XXL

A Tediore sub-machine gun that on reload is thrown at enemies and explodes like a grenade. However, if thrown onto the ground, it roams around on its own and fires at enemies until out of ammo.

Gettleburger

A Torgue rocket launcher that fires hamburgers with all the condiments. It does knockback damage but then explodes soon after, sending bandits flying.

The Killing Word

A COV pistol that fires sonic waves of doom that look cool but actually just do regular physical damage.

Porta-Pooper 5000

A COV rocket launcher that fires Irradiated “waste.”

Cloud Kill

A Maliwan submachine gun that doesn't require much time to charge before firing.

Shocking 9-Volt

A Dahl SMG that fires a “V” pattern of sparking bullets.

Extreme Hangin’ Chadd

A COV pistol that doesn’t spend any ammo.

Dastardly Hand of Glory

A burst-fire Jakobs assault rifle whose bullets ricochets when getting critical hits.

Tamed Hail

A DAHL assault rifle that lobs bullets in an arc.
