We knew it was coming as all conventions for the remainder of 2020 have been canceled or rescheduled, but now we have the official word that Power-Con is postponed until Fall 2021. See the details below:
As the safety and well-being of fans is of the upmost importance, the team at Power-Con has decided to postpone our 2020 event. Power-Con will return September 11 & 12, 2021 to the Hilton Anaheim in Anaheim, California.
Everyone at Power-Con has remained optimistic that the 2020 event could continue as originally planned. However, in light of health advisories and a statement by the Governor of California that holding events in August remains unlikely, we have decided it is in the best interest of Attendees, Guests, and Exhibitors to push the event forward to next year. With all the exciting plans in motion for the Masters of the Universe, we know that the 2021 convention is going to be epic!
But that doesn’t mean 2020 has nothing to offer. In fact, we have something special in the works for He-Fans and She-Ravers. Working with Mattel, we will have some FREE online offerings for fans across the globe. We wish to continue to give back to the fans who have supported Power-Con for almost a decade, and give a taste of what Power-Con has to offer to fans who have yet to attend. Details will be coming soon!
Non-Attendee sales for remaining product begin this Saturday, May 9th at 9am Pacific time. This means that if you had planned to attend but had NOT pre-purchased your passes and exclusives, then you won’t want to miss the Non-Attendee sale.
For Attendees who had previously pre-purchased tickets and exclusives:
For the following, you do NOT need to contact us. We will be reaching out to you soon to make arrangements. When we contact you, there will be two options:
1. You can request a full refund. If you only purchased passes, you will obviously want this and we will process the refund without contacting you. And if you purchased passes and merchandise, you can also opt out of your pre-order in favor of a full refund.
2. If you pre-ordered merchandise, and still want those items, then we will roll your Attendee pass purchase towards the cost of shipping / handling with the balance to be paid via PayPal. Please note that shipping / handling is expensive so there will most likely be a balanced owed. If not, we will refund you the difference.
**UPDATE: We have received a number of good questions about different scenarios involving the existing pre-orders. We are continually updating our FAQ as questions come in. So please check that first before contacting us. Thank you!
For Exhibitors who had previously reserved space for 2020:
Since we have not billed you for space, there is no need for a refund. But if you would like to keep your reservation for next year, we will hold onto your spot until payment is due some time in 2021.
Also, if you would like to purchase any 2020 exclusives, please do so via our Non-Attendee sales that start this Saturday, May 9th at 9am Pacific time.
We will be contacting Exhibitors soon to see who would like to keep their reservations for 2021.
For those who made hotel reservations:
The Hilton Anaheim will be contacting you soon. They will give you the option to cancel your reservation with no penalties, or you can roll your reservation over to next year’s event at the 2021 rates.
Details will be in the e-mail they send so please keep an eye out for that!
For those who purchased airfare:
This is one aspect with which we unfortunately cannot assist. But depending on the nature of your reservation, most airlines are offering refunds or the ability to rebook with no change fees.
Please contact your airline immediately to make arrangements. And if it might help, please click here to read an article on Airfare Watch Dog that outlines many of the flight waiver and refund policies airlines have in place due to the COVID-19 situation.
Please see our Tickets & Exclusives page for details on the Non-Attendee sale. And we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.
We were all very excited about the 2020 show, but your safety and the safety of those around you is far more important.
Please stay tuned for more details about the Power-Con 2020 online experience, and we look forward to seeing you at Power-Con on September 11 & 12, 2021 in Anaheim, California!
