Roadhouse Interactive signs deal with Games Workshop for side-scrolling smartphone and tablet game set in fantasy world.
Family Guy Online developer Roadhouse Interactive announced a partnership with Games Workshop today that will see the studio create a side-scrolling action game for smartphones and tablets set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. The untitled game will cast players as a space marine and task them with vanquishing waves of enemies.
"We are incredibly excited to bring a part of Warhammer 40,000 to life on mobile and tablet and its great to work with Games Workshop," Roadhouse Interactive cofounder and president Tarrnie Williams said in a statement.
Terms of the deal were not divulged.
Roadhouse Interactive worked with 20th Century Fox on Family Guy Online, an ill-fated free-to-play browser-based game. The project featured voicework from the TV show's cast and entered beta last year, but was shut down in January before releasing in full.
This is the second new Warhammer 40K game to be announced in as many weeks. Last week, Slitherine announced a turn-based strategy game set in the fantasy universe. And in addition to that, Total War developer Creative Assembly is working on multiple Warhammer 40K titles, the first of which will release "from beyond 2013."
