Listen To A Preview Of Beyonce And Andre 3000’s ‘Back To Black’ From ‘The Great Gatsby’ Soundtrack

Check out Beyonce and Andre 3000's "Back To Black" single.

Beyoncé and Andre 3000 team up to cover the late Amy Winehouse's "Back To Black."

You and I both know that you just don't TOUCH an Amy Winehouse song, especially one as iconic as the late singer's classic "Back To Black." It's just not done. That said, if there IS one lady on this earth who we would grant a "Winehouse cover pardon" to, it's Beyoncé. Because, well, SELF-EXPLANATORY (AND: rhinestone nipples!). Along with her "Party" collaborator, Andre 3000, Bey and Andre reinterpreted Amy's classic single for the upcoming "The Great Gatsby" soundtrack, produced by Bey's hubby, Jay-Z.

Although their "Back To Black" preview is only a minute-and-a-half long, it's enough to tell that Andre and Beyoncé did a FULL reinterpretation, reworking the tempo, the vibe, and most important, the production. Set to a slow and burning track, Andre's heavily produced, almost unrecognizable bass-vocal opens the record as he sing-raps the first verse. Later, Andre transitions into a more classic vocal, which is met by Beyoncé's ethereal and wispy second verse delivery.

First impression? Bey and Andre completely nailed it! Somehow this dream team managed to preserve the integrity of Amy's original while adding a layer of "too cool for school" that we assume will go perfectly with Leonardo DiCaprio's face the forthcoming "Gatsby" flick. Also, how uncomfortable would it make everyone if we guessed that "Back To Black" was going to soundtrack a hot movie sex scene? Because, like, BEST MAKE-OUT SONG OF LIFE.
