The “great event” has happened, the time portal opened and look what came through – Mattel’s “New Adventures of He-Man” Galactic Protector He-Man! So everyone grab your favorite bushy eye-browed scientist and settle back and take a look for a few “touts.”
This is the first time fans will see the finished, production version of the figure as well a the character bio on the back of the card.   The bio follows the basic story structure of the “New Adventures of He-Man” animated series, (but it confuses me a bit how it fits in with recent King He-Man storyline) where by the Galactic Guardians pop through the time portal and, confused by their allegiances, take both He-Man and a VERY goofy looking Skeletor (with pupils in his eye sockets) back with them to the futuristic planet of Primus.
Let’s face it… “The New Adventures of He-Man” animated series was pretty terrible.  The fact that the Four Horsemen and the Mattel designers are able to make cool looking MOTUC figures out of these designs is a real testament to their talents!
This NA He-man is a bit of an amalgam of two vintage NA figures, with the parts included to make either the regular version or the Thunder Punch version.  He comes with his gold harness/bandolier and pony-tail head as well as the space vest/”Dare” armor and helmet head (wouldn’t his pony tail get caught in the spinning vent on the back of the helmet?) The Thunder punch version came with the translucent green power sword and shield. It also came with a translucent green harness, but Mattel went with a gold painted solid harness that matches the animation better.
NA He-man makes for our 5th figure from the New Adventures line. He joins Icarius, Slush Head, Karatii and Optikk.  I will be VERY curious to see if they try their hands at a NA Skeletor.  I think that might be their toughest challenge yet!
Galactic Protector He-man has all of the standard articulation you expect (the ab-crunch mostly goes away when you put the “Dare” armor vest on) but he also has additional new wrist articulation, that is different on both hands. One hand goes back and forth, the other moved from side to side but it allows He-man at last to hold his sword aloft!
Galactic Protector He-man is part of the Club Eternia subscription.
