Season 2 of The Witcher has arrived on Netflix, and a post-credits scene in the final episode drops a surprise first look at the upcoming prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin. As of this writing, this scene is currently only viewable through Netflix. Set thousands of years before the adventures of Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer in the mainline Witcher show, the quick glimpse of Blood Origin we're given showcases a trio of elves played by Michelle Yeoh as the sword-elf Scian, Sophia Brown as Éile, an "elite warrior blessed with the voice of a goddess" and Laurence O'Fuarain as the warrior Fjall. The rest of the cast includes Mirren Mack as Merwyn, Lenny Henry as Balor, Jacob Collins as Eredin, Lizzie Annis as Zacaré, Huw Novelli as Callan "Brother Death," Francesca Mills as Meldof, Amy Murray as Fenrik, Nathaniel Curtis as Brían, Zach Wyatt as Syndril, and Dylan Moran as Uthrok One-Nut. The teaser does not reveal a release date for the series, but Netflix has recently announced that the series is expected sometime in 2022. As the title suggests, Blood Origin will tell the story of "the origin of the very first Witcher and the events that lead to the pivotal 'conjunction of the spheres,' when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one."
