Prime Day 2022 is almost here, but you can already find a bunch of great deals on soundbars and speakers ahead of the event. Whether you’re looking to upgrade your home theater or bring your games with you on the road, these early soundbar Prime Day deals are worth a minute of your time. While we'll undoubtedly see a bunch of Prime Day deals on soundbars and speakers from well-known brands next week, there are already a bunch of great speaker deals that make it easy (and affordable) to upgrade your gear today. JBL, in particular, has a bunch products on sale, although you’ll also find high-end gear from Samsung and LG. Some are even specific to gaming, such as the high-end LG UltraGear GP9. Others, like the JBL Bar 5.1, are perfect for bringing your home theater to the next level. If you’re just getting started on your home theater journey, there are plenty of soundbars under $200 to get you on your way. Previous events have seen big price cuts on dozens of home theater sound systems, and we’re expecting the same for 2022. JBL Flip 5
$100 ($130) One of JBL’s best-reviewed portable speakers is now on sale, as you can pick up the powerful JBL Flip 5 for just $100, down from $130. The speaker is offered in a wide variety of colors, but all of them feature 12 hours of playtime, an IPX7 waterproof design, and the ability to link multiple speakers together for an even more robust setup.
JBL Xtreme 3
$300 ($380) If you need something a bit more robust than the Flip 5, the JBL Xtreme 3 is also seeing a massive $180 discount ahead of Prime Day. This portable speaker offers a rugged design, 15 hours of playtime, and IP67-rated waterproofing and dustproofing. That makes it an ideal companion for the beach or pool, although its just as happy at the campsite or a backyard barbecue. Pulling it all together is premium JBL audio, which is pumped out through four drivers and two JBL Bass Radiators for a crisp sound.
JBL Go 3
$30 ($50) Don’t let its low price tag fool you--the JBL Go 3 is a great travel companion. Its ultra-compact design can easily fit in your backpack, purse, or pocket, letting you bring the party with you on your travels. It's also waterproof and dustproof, with an IP67 rating. You’ll only get about five hours of playtime out of the tiny device, but that’s a small price to pay for this combination of sound quality, size, and pricing.
Sony HT-S400 Soundbar and Subwoofer
$198 ($300) Looking to upgrade your home theater? Consider giving this premium Sony setup a closer look. Not only does it come with a soundbar, but you’ll also get a wireless subwoofer to help create richer-sounding bass. Installation is easy too, and the included remote control makes it even easier to customize its performance once installed. You’ll also have the option to connect via HDMI ARC or optical connections, meaning nearly all setups are compatible with the unit.
Sony S100F Soundbar
$98 ($130) Compact, affordable, and efficient--the Sony S100F soundbar is surprisingly well-rounded at this price point. The soundbar includes a built-in tweeter for crisper sound, HDMI ARC support, and creates thumping explosions with the included Bass Reflex speaker. There’s also a unique voice enhancement feature that makes it easier to hear quiet dialogue during high-intensity scenes.
Samsung HW-A450
$147 ($200) If you think impressive bass is the the most important aspect of home theater systems, consider giving the Samsung HW-A450 a minute of your time. Not only does it come with a wireless subwoofer and enhanced audio tracking for balanced performance, but you can enable “Bass Boost” by pressing a button on your soundbar. There’s also a dedicated mode for gaming that helps improve the directionality of audio output to match the on-screen action.
LG 2.1 Soundbar
$120 ($160) The big selling point of the LG 2.1 Soundbar is its DTS Virtual:X support. Essentially, this fancy tech helps produce a three-dimensional listening experience to help immerse you in the action. Adding to the effect is a carbon woofer and wireless subwoofer. Setup is simple, with support for both optical input and wireless Bluetooth connections. The LG 2.1 Soundbar was designed for 40-inch TVs or larger--making it a great fit for your entertainment center, game room, or home theater.
JBL Bar 5.1
$350 ($600) The JBL Bar 5.1 is the most expensive setup on this list (so far)--but it has the firepower to back up the price tag. And currently discounted by $250, anyone serious about their home theater will find a lot to love about the package. You’ll get a 10-inch wireless subwoofer, built-in Chromecast, 4K passthrough with HDR 10 and Dolby Vision support, and JBL’s unique beamforming technology for immersive sound. Samsung HW-B650
$280 ($400) Dolby Atmos support makes the Samsung HW-B650 one of the most compelling soundbars currently on sale--as does the generous $120 price cut. It also features the same Bass Boost capabilities found on the lower-end Samsung models. Rounding out the package is a built-in center speaker dedicated to dialogue, subwoofer, the ability to connect to two devices via Bluetooth, Game Mode for enhanced audio tracking, and an optional wall mounting kit.
LG Ultragear GP9 Gaming Speaker
$250 ($500) If the Gaming Speaker moniker didn’t give it away, the aggressive styling of the GP9 immediately lets you know what it’s designed for. Not only does it work with just about every platform (thanks to aux input, optical support, and USB-C connections), but you can even use the speaker's features as a pseudo-headset--thanks to a built-in microphone.
