New Song: Linkin Park, ‘Burn It Down’

Linkin Park light it up on their new single 'Burn It Down.'

Things have been pretty quiet on the Linkin Park front since their last album, 2010's A Thousand Suns. But with the release of the band's latest single, "Burn It Down," off of the newly announced Living Things album, the two-year wait for new LP material is finally over. Bonus round: The band also announced today that they're headed out on the road later this summer with Incubus and MUTEMATH for the 2012 Honda Civic Tour. What a fun, sexy time for us, Linkin Park fans.

"Burn It Down" sees Linkin Park heading in a new, electronic direction while keeping their harder, more rock-oriented roots. The result is an aggressive, midtempo jam about rebirth and renewal that the band is really excited about. Frontman Chester Bennington told MTV News, "We're kind of really comfortable with our early nĂ¼-metal days, and we're really comfortable with where we're at in our more contemporary version of ourselves, so this is a good representation of that comfort level with our own identity as a band."

Linkin Park's Living Things is due in stores June 26 and available for preorder on the band's website today.
