Community Movie Bound For Peacock Makes Good On Show’s Longtime Mantra

The cult hit show Community's prophecy has finally come true--the inventive and quirky comedy will indeed be getting a feature film after its six seasons that brought the show to a close in 2015. Original stars Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong will reportedly be re-teaming in a still unknown story.

Deadline was the first to report on the joint announcement from Peacock and Sony Pictures TV. As that pairing implies, the movie--and also the full six-season library of Community--will be coming to Peacock. As of this writing, Community can be watched on both Hulu and Netflix.

Noticeably missing from the film's announced line-up are original stars Donald Glover (Atlanta), who we can hope for a surprise cameo from, and Chevy Chase--who infamously clashed with creator Dan Harmon and other cast members, and was then unceremoniously killed off the show. There has so far been no mention of the Season 6 fan-favorite characters played by Keith David (Requiem for a Dream, Mr. Robot) and Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds) or Season 5 played by Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul)--but it sure is hard to imagine Community's big send-off without them.
