The first Matrix film, released all the way back in 1999, is arguably still the best of the lot and has held up surprisingly well over the years. A masterpiece of storytelling, action, special effects, and sound design, it's a lean-and-mean blockbuster that took the world by storm and broke new ground at the time with its slow-motion choreography. It felt like almost every action film was copying Neo's bullet-dodging acrobatics in the wake of this film's release. If you only want to rewatch the first one, the 4K Blu-ray edition of The Matrix is discounted to just $11.49.
While they aren't as highly regarded, The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions are still great movies in their own right. The Wachowski Sisters returned to direct the follow-ups, and with a bigger budget behind them, the action reached new heights across freeway chase scenes, a massive brawl in the Merovingian's manor, and all-out war in Zion between humanity and an endless number of killer robot squids. The Matrix Resurrections is a nostalgic return to that universe, and while it's not as grand as the films that came before it, it still has some interesting ideas and themes that it explores. There's a large number of extras in this collection, including interviews, trailers, and behind-the-scenes featurettes.
