James McCaffrey, the longtime voice actor who has brought numerous key characters in Remedy Entertainment's games to life, has passed away at the age of 65.

The news was first reported by TMZ, saying a rep confirmed that he died on Sunday surrounded by friends and family after a battle with multiple myeloma. Actor Kevin Dillon had earlier posted a message on Instagram indicating that McCaffrey had died.

Remedy addressed his passing in a post on X/Twitter, saying, "We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of our beloved friend and collaborator James McCaffrey, the iconic voice of Max Payne and Alex Casey.
