EA Sports UFC 5 Gets Massive Update Schedule, Over 30 Fighters Being Added

EA Sports UFC 5 is getting over 30 new fighters by the end of June, which EA is touting as the biggest post-launch roster expansion in the history of the franchise. All of these new fighters will be added as free additions to the roster, adding a total of 34 new fighters by the end of that period.

Detailed in a blog post, the first batch comes on April 4, adding nine new fighters to the game, including Diego Lopes, Geoff Neal, and Tracy Cortez. This update also includes a number of balance changes for UFC 5, reducing stamina recovery between rounds by 20% and increasing the evasiveness of stationary, advancing, and retreating ducks.

The rest of the fighters are coming in three waves: nine more later in April, three in May, and 13 more in June. The exact dates of these updates haven't been revealed just yet, but EA has shared which fighters will be joining in each wave, all of whom you can see below. After these three waves, UFC 5 will transition to a more steady cadence of adding two to three fighters with each update, along with keeping the in-game roster up to date with current UFC rankings.

The nine fighters being added on April 4 are:

  • Brendan Allen
  • Marina Rodriguez
  • Muhammad Mokaev
  • Serghei Spivac
