After nearly 50 years, the Rocky franchise is now nine movies deep. While almost all of them have gotten the 4K treatment over the years, there are still a couple of these films--1990's Rocky 5 and 2006's Rocky Balboa--that don't yet have 4K Blu-rays for you to put on your shelf. But that won't be the case for much longer, because you can preorder the 4K Blu-ray sets for both Rocky 5 and Rocky Balboa right now. These new Rocky Blu-rays include each movie in 4K, standard Blu-ray, and digital download formats, and package it all in collectible steelbook cases featuring iconic shots from the movies on the cover and interior. The Rocky Balboa 4K Blu-ray set includes separate discs for the original theatrical release and the extended director's cut. In the fifth movie, Rocky finds himself a working class man once again after Paulie's accountant wastes all their money on bad real estate deals, and the washed-up fighter tries to find a new lease on life by training and mentoring a young fighter named Tommy Gunn. But after Tommy dumps Rocky for a competitor, Rocky ends up having to fight his own protege in an unsanctioned street fight. While not a particularly beloved entry in the franchise, Rocky 5 does its own thing in a way that's gotten easier to appreciate the longer this series goes on. You can preorder the Rocky 5 4K USH Blu-ray for $40 at Amazon and Walmart. 16 years after Rocky 5, Sylvester Stallone returned for this revival, which sees a 60-year-old Rocky take on the current heavyweight title-holder--played by real boxer Antonio Tarver--in a charity bout. This one has aged surprisingly well, thanks to stunt matches like this becoming more common and prominent in the streaming age. While the set is normally priced at $65, you can preorder it for just $29 at both Amazon and Walmart. The Rest Of The Rocky Film Franchise On 4K Blu-rayAs mentioned above, the entire rest of the Rocky franchise, including the recent Creed films, are already available on 4K, and you'll find Amazon links for those below.
