If you're working through Act II of Disney Dreamlight Valley's A Rift in Time expansion, you'll quickly find yourself working on some puzzles within the Ancient Ruins. This section of the expansion follows a quest that sees you open the entrance to The Sunken Ruins. You'll next be tasked with recruiting Gaston, Rapunzel, and EVE to help you solve the three puzzles for the "A Bit of Help From Your Friends" quest. Here's how to complete each of their request and, ultimately, solve the mystery of what awaits within the Ancient Ruins.

How to complete Hero Pose

Speak to Gaston to start "Hero's Pose". He will request that you find some golden ingredients within the Cave of Wonders so that you can make him a hearty breakfast to give him the strength to pose in the Ancient Ruins. Head to the Cave of Wonders in The Wastes to get started.

Inside the Cave of Wonders, take out your shovel and use it to pick up the various pools of gold littered around the area. Here's where to find each piece in order of appearance:

• Golden Eggs - Right at the entrance of the cave
• Golden Pepper - Down the path to the left of the entrance of the cave
• Aged Venison - In the left chamber at the back of the main area
• Gemstone Cheese - In the right chamber at the back of the main area
• Golden Milk - In the very back of the cave right before the long, thin staircase

Head to a stove and cook the Golden Omelet for Gaston, then return it to him. He'll now ask you to round up materials to create a Shiny Lefou. You'll need the following:

• Bronze Ingot x5
• Jade x3
• Bumblestone x1
• Alexandrite x1
• Spinel x1
• Paints x1

You can get all the gems from around Eternity Isle, but you'll need to head to Rapunzel's tower to grab the Paints. You can find them laying in plain sight next to her easel. With everything collected, craft the Shiny Lefou, then return to Gaston once more.

Gaston will now be waiting for you at the Ancient Ruins, completing this segment of "A Bit of Help From Your Friends."

How to complete All the Right Notes

Speak to Rapunzel to begin "All the Right Notes". She'll ask you to fetch Mother Gothel's Recipe from her tower so you can make her something to ease her sore throat, which will allow her to assist you with the musical notes puzzle in the Ancient Ruins. Head to her tower to get started.

Inside Rapunzel's tower, grab Mother Gothel's Recipe from beside the bed, then open it in your inventory. Return to Rapunzel with this new knowledge, and she'll send you to the Promenade to dig up Mother Gothel's Purple Seeds.

Mother Gothel's Purple Seeds spawn in random locations within the Promenade, but they're easily identifiable as diggable spots with purple seeds sticking out. Dig up two of them, then replant them. Water the seeds and wait 20 minutes to harvest them.

Take the seeds to a stove and cook Mother Gothel's Soup and Mother Gothel's Tea. Rapunzel will then need 5 minutes to see if she's feeling better, so give her a bit of time and then return once more.

Rapunzel will now be waiting for you at the Ancient Ruins, completing this segment of "A Bit of Help From Your Friends."

How to complete Does Not Compute

Speak to EVE to begin "Does Not Compute." She needs some upgrades to help you hack the computer console in the Ancient Ruins, so investigate the map she gives you to get started.

The map shows you the location of five ancient artifacts around Eternity Isle. It may look daunting, but it's actually very simple. Here are the locations:

• Ancient Slate - Make your way to EVE and WALL-E's hideaway in The Overlook to fish this one from a golden puddle.
• Ancient Dictionary - Head to Gaston's encampment in the Glittering Dunes and use your pickaxe to break the out-of-place rock there to get this ancient artifact.
• Ancient Processor Blueprint - Return to the "hidden room" behind the waterfall on the lower level of Ancient's Landing, then use your Royal Hourglass to find this one.
• Ancient Processor Crystal - Take off to the far right end of The Courtyard (down the long hallway) and dig up this ancient artifact.
• Ancient Power Sphere - Go to the stone platform on the far right side of The Grasslands and past the sundial to dig this one up beneath the statue here.

Combine these ancient artifacts with Ancient Gear x3, Ancient Plate x3, and Ancient Magnet x3 to create the Ancient Processor, then take it back to EVE. She'll ask you to take pictures inside her house. Here are the things you need to take photos of inside EVE's home:

• Something round with holes - The table to the left of the entrance
• Some sort of power outlet - EVE's bed
• Some glossy globes - The ceiling light

You'll now need to craft the Universal Adapter using Oasis Glass x10, Plastic Scrap x15, Copper x15, Mechanical Parts x3, and Brass Ingot x2. Take it to EVE.

EVE will now be waiting for you at the Ancient Ruins, completing this segment of "A Bit of Help From Your Friends."

How to solve the puzzles in the Ancient Ruins

After completing all of the individual characters' quests, head back to the Ancient Ruins and speak with each one. They will then disperse to their specified areas of the ruins to prepare for their part in the puzzle.

Speak to EVE in the North chamber first, then use your pickaxe to break open the rubble throughout the ruins until you obtain three Ancient Power Coils. Insert one into each of the slots in the room with EVE. Next, step on the pressure plate across from EVE to power up the ruins.

Go talk to Gaston in the West chamber to have him upgrade your pickaxe. This will let you remove larger rubble inside the ruins, so go ahead and clear out the entire chamber, then speak to Gaston again. Now place Shiny Lefaou one pressure plate before standing on the other one yourself.

Next, speak to Rapunzel in the East chamber. She'll ask you to find some clues about the melody. Go ahead and clear away all of the rubble to the left of Rapunzel, then pick up the sheet of paper there for a memory page showing you the melody.

Interact with the musical notes and arrange them like so:

• Left note: Align the bottom of the note with the first line
• Middle note: Align the bottom of the note between the second and third lines
• Right note: Align the bottom of the note with the second line

Stand on the pressure plate to the left of the notes, then speak to Rapunzel. You can finally go stand on the fourth pressure plate in the central room to open a door leading down... At which point you'll meet a new friend.
