Studio Ghibli’s The Boy And The Heron 4K Limited Edition Restocked And Discounted At Amazon

Studio Ghibli's latest film, The Boy and the Heron, released on Blu-ray last week. Amazon quickly sold out of the limited-edition steelbook 4K Blu-ray at launch, but it's back in stock now amidst Prime Day 2024 deals. You can snag The Boy and the Heron on 4K UHD Blu-ray with a special steelbook case for $35 (was $45) at Amazon and Walmart. The 4K edition also comes with a standard 1080p Blu-ray disc.

The steelbook matches the aesthetics of previous Studio Ghibli limited-edition releases, but it's the first 4K Blu-ray from the beloved studio. It's actually the second Hayao Miyazaki film to receive a 4K release, as The Castle of Cagliostro, Miyazaki's directorial debut, released on 4K a few years back. It's a great animated comedy, but it initially released in 1979, years before the formation of Studio Ghibli.
