Luke Skywalker has flown X-Wings and A-Wings over the years, but have you ever seen him inside of a mech suit? Thanks to this Lego suit, you can imagine just how different Star Wars would have been if Skywalker was piloting an "X-Wing" warsuit equipped with an oversized lightsaber. This is one of more than a dozen new Lego Star Wars sets that launched this week. Not only is it one of the coolest new kits in the collection, but it's also one of the cheapest at only $16.
Taking design cues from Luke's X-Wing starfighter, the mech has articulated hands, arms, legs and feet, a cockpit for the included minifigure, and an adjustable X-wing jetpack. For situations when you need to bring an uncivilized weapon to a fight, there's also a buildable stud-shooting blaster.
As mentioned, a bunch of other Lego Star Wars sets launched this week, in case you'd like to pick up a few more for your collection. Some are quite creative, like the 1,579-piece Dark Falcon set that reimagines the heroes of Star Wars as villains and gives them a sleek new spaceship to explore the galaxy in. Also, you get a Darth Jar Jar Binks minifigure, so this is the best Lego Star Wars set of the year.
