The new Citadelle des Morts Zombies map is live in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 with Season 1 Reloaded. This is a new castle map with a full main storyline quest and four elemental wonder weapons you can use. Each sword has its own hidden steps to unlock, and here we guide you through the steps for all four variants. Additionally, Season 1 Reloaded adds the holiday-themed Merry Mayhem event. The event tiers also reward you with Zombies items, including the new Light Bend ammo mod and Tesla Storm field upgrade. These items aren't necessary for the Wonder Weapons, but you might want to consider unlocking them for use on Citadelle des Morts.
How to get the Bastard sword
Fitting of the medieval castle setting, Citadelle des Morts lets you wield a powerful sword Wonder Weapon. The first step is getting your hands on the base version of the weapon, which is called the Bastard sword. The Bastard Sword is a normal Claymore melee weapon. It can be used to either attack enemies or deflect projectiles. It will be made even more powerful by making it into one of the four elemental variants. The map holds your hand through the first part, guiding you through the castle to unlock the Pack-a-Punch machine. Continuing the steps to unlock the Pack-a-Punch machine requires you to reach the Oubliette Room and shoot three locks off a crate. This spawns the map's special enemy type called the Doppelghast. Kill it and it will drop the Blood Aetherium Crystal quest item you need to pick up. Then, finish activating the Pack-a-Punch machine. Afterward, go to the nearby Quick Revive room and interact with the wooden door. This lets you speak with Gabriel Krafft and get a cutscene. Now, you're ready to start upgrading your swords.
By round 10, you'll start encountering a zombie type with a metal helmet on. He actually looks like a bucket head. Killing this enemy drops a Stamp quest item you need to collect.
Go back into the Dining Hall--This is the room with the Vulture Aid machine. You can now use the Stamp item you collected to interact with one of the four statues on the map, depending on which elemental sword you want. Each statue gives you the base version of the corresponding sword. Then, you'll need to complete the unique quest steps to unlock the type you want. Note: You can only hold one sword at a time, but you can upgrade swords and then place them back into the statue's hand to swap it out for another one. Additionally, if you die in your match and your teammates respawn you the next round, you can go back and collect your sword from the statue. You will need to collect a new stamp for each statue. The helmet zombies are frequent enough that you shouldn't have a problem getting more.
All elemental sword types
Each of the four elemental powers has a unique special attack, as well as a passive effect that is powered up over time. These are Treyarch's official sword descriptions below: - Caliburn: Dragon's Fire: Create a fiery maelstrom of burning undead flesh, setting zombies alight and summoning an immense fireball.
- Durendal: Stag of the Storms: Summon thunderous power from the skies, discharging voltaic power to stun and stagger, before an electrical beam serves up a severe searing.
- Balmung: Raven's Shadow: Cast your rotting foes into the Aetherial abyss, warping nearby enemies with a focused liminal tear.
- Solais: Lion of Light: The warmth of Light courses through you as you send foes screaming into darkness.
How to get the fire sword
This is the Caliburn: Dragon's Fire sword, and it's by far the easiest sword to obtain. Take the Stamp to the Dining Hall and interact with the armored statue with a dragon on its chest plate. This gives you a Bastard sword.
Take the sword upstairs to the dragon statue in the same room. Interact with the dragon and three cauldrons will light up around the map.
Interact with each cauldron one at a time, bringing the fire back to the dragon statue after each interaction. You are taking fire damage while holding the ball of fire, so make sure you rush back to the dragon straightaway. The locations of the cauldrons are as follows: - One is on the left side of the cannon you fired to open the castle
- Another one is to the left exit of the Town Square just outside the door
- Located in the Town Square just outside of the opposite exit
Note: For the last location, you need to take the path around the outskirts of the castle to make it back to the dragon in time. Trying to go the main path through the town will get you killed even if you're running faster with Stamin-up. Bringing the last fire back to the statue will upgrade you to the Caliburn fire sword.
How to get the lightning sword
This is the Durendal: Stag of the Storms sword. Go to the Dining Hall and use the Stamp to get the base sword from the statue with the stag symbol on the chest plate. Then, you need to collect three lightning rods.
You'll need Dead Wire equipped to your gun for this step. Then, go and shoot the electrical box found near Speed Cola. It's to the right of the machine, following the path that leads down the edge of the map. Shooting this electrical box will drop a lightning rod.
Another Lightning Rod can be picked up off the ground to the left of the Deadshot Daiquiri machine. The final Lightning Rod drops from killing a zombie. This part seems to be random, and anyone in your party can kill the zombie who drops it, so make sure your teammates are on the lookout for this item. If you've gone several rounds without seeing it, search around areas of the map to see if someone overlooked it.
You'll need to place all three Lighting Rods in the vase/urn-shaped container found near the giant cannon. This is located in the space between the cannon and Elemental Pop.
This will activate the container, and the area around you will get stormy. Kill the purple-eyed zombies that spawn nearby with your sword. This will charge your sword with lightning. Then, melee the container to charge one of the three rods. Be quick to transfer the lightning to the container, because you take damage while electrified and it can kill you. Repeat this until all three rods are charged, and then interact with the container to place the sword. After, you'll be able to retrieve the upgraded variant.
How to get the void sword
This is the Balmung: Raven's Shadow sword, and it is by far the most complicated of the four swords. Thankfully, we're including the solutions to help you solve it faster. Start by going to the Dining Hall. Use the Stamp to get the base sword from the Dining Hall statue with the raven perched on the shoulder.
Go to the Alchemical Lab room. Each match will be different, but you'll always have one Antiquity item that spawns in the room. It might be an ornament with two raven skulls, a jaw bone, a horn, a fish fossil, or a scorpion fossil. Each piece will have a symbol on it, but it's hard to see and you can't reexamine it after you pick it up. Don't worry, we have the solutions below.
Then, take the Antiquity item back towards the spawn area. Underneath the tavern is a basement with a puzzle dial on the wall. Interacting with it will deposit your sword and place the Antiquity item in the center.
Then, you need to line up the pieces that match your item. You're trying to line up the two symbols with the glowing arrow shape at the bottom. The puzzles codes are as follows: - Horn: Taurus symbol + triangle
- Jaw: Leo + triangle
- Fish: Pieces + upside down triangle
- Scorpion: Scorpio + upside down triangle
- Double raven skull: Gemini + triangle with a line through it
The image above shows the solve for the Jaw.
After solving the dial, turn around to find a purple portal on the floor. The dial will shoot purple orbs that follow you. You want to stand by the portal on the floor so that the orbs get sucked into the portal. It takes a few orbs to close the portal, and then it will move to a new location inside the tavern above you. Go and stand by the portal until enough orbs can close it. The third and final portal is upstairs in the tavern. The portal is supposed to close, and then you can go pick up the upgraded sword by interacting with the dial.
The final portal didn't close in my first playthrough. If you find that orbs are no longer floating to you on this last step, go and check the dial in the basement. If you interact with it and your sword drops into a larger purple portal, you're good to go, and your sword will briefly return in upgraded form.
How to get the light sword
This is the Solais: Lion of Light sword. Start by going to the Dining Hall. Use the Stamp to get the base sword from the Dining Hall statue with the lion symbol on the chest plate.
Parasite enemies will spawn around you when you pick up the sword. Don't kill them all right away. Melee a glowing Parasite to charge the sword. You'll know it works because the sword will start glowing.
Then, run towards Speed Cold and down the ramp to the door with the lion symbol on it. Melee the door and a glowing symbol will appear. Repeat this process three more times. Melee a glowing parasite to charge the sword, and then go melee the lion door.
Interact with the door to be teleported inside the room. Interact with the pedestal inside to place the sword. The symbols from the door will start spawning and moving all over the room. They'll also appear on the pedestal one by one. Shoot the symbols in the order shown on the pedestal, and repeat until you've done all four. Then, you'll be able to grab the upgraded light sword. These elemental swords can just be used for a fun way to slay zombies, but they're also needed if you want to complete the map's main storyline quest.
