Back in August, the week before the DC Club Infinite Earths subscription window closed, I was able to sit down with Mattel’s Scott Neitlich and do a podcast to go over all of the questions they had come up regarding the 2014 DC sub. Now we know that the sub did not fund there are a lot of people with a LOT of questions about “What next?” and “Will we see ANY of the 2014 figures?” I was seeing a lot of the same questions being asked over and over again on the MattyCollector.com message boards and anywhere collectors gathered. I also saw a lot of theories fans were proposing on how to get these figures and how to keep the line going.
Mattel announced that they will be making an announcement about the future of the 2014 Q1 figures (Hook-hand Aquaman, Superboy, Damian Wayne Robin, Ice and both versions of Doomsday) this weekend at their MattyPalooza panel on Friday at New York Comic Con.
In this podcast interview Scott talks about they possibilities available for end of the 4HM sculpted 6″ line, why this is the end, what might have been the reason the sub didn’t catch on with DC fans and much, much more.
Unfortunately the recorder chopped off the last 10 minutes of the interview so this will stop abruptly, but there’s still a lot of great information in the hour that I did capture that makes it worth a listen.
Depending on the announcement at NYCC and the questions that come up after, I’ll try to set up one more of these chats with Scott to get any answers that folks are still looking for.
