As in Alan Wake 2 and Control, reading various files and bits of correspondence in Alan Wake 2's Lake House expansion is key to understanding the story and the mystery at the chapter's heart. A lot of that correspondence is hidden on computers in the Lake House, a Federal Bureau of Control research facility where the DLC takes place, and if you want to disregard the right to privacy and figure out what happened down there, you're going to need to crack some passwords. There are five password-protected computers in the Lake House DLC, and if you unlock all of them, you'll earn the Hard Work Trophy/Achievement along with the hidden information you'll glean from them. Some require you to figure out some puzzles by seeking out other notes and pieces of information, and others require you to be observant. Even though there are only five locked computers in the chapter, it can be very easy to miss a password or key piece of information, especially when you're under threat from the spooky denizens of the Lake House's halls. Here's where you can find every password-protected computer in the Lake House, how you can figure out their passwords, and what those passwords are. We're going to spoil all those passwords, so if you'd rather figure them out yourself, now's the time to click away. But if you want to make sure you see everything the Lake House has to offer, read on. Password 1: Dr. Jules Mormont's Office, Ground Floor
The first computer you need to break into teaches you how to solve these puzzles. In order to keep their computers secure, the Lake House staff are supposed to pick new six-digit codes daily. To keep them from being impossible to remember, they try to use the same digits for the first four numbers every day, while changing the last two. The staff aren't supposed to use notable dates like birthdays or anniversaries, but luckily for us, nobody listens.
To figure out the code to Dr. Jules Mormon's computer, you first need to check around his office. Go to the corner to the right of door to find the date when he and his wife, Dr. Diana Mormont, first started as co-heads of research at the Lake House. That provides you with the first four numbers.
The last two numbers can be found on Jules's desk, where his daily calendar mentions that actress Hedy Lamar was also an inventor, and notes her age when she invented frequency hopping. Put them together and you get the password: 071838 Password 2: Lockdown control room, Floor -2
When you first reach Sublevel 2, you'll find the floor locked down, with a bunch of Taken enemies locked in different offices. To cancel the lockdown and open the doors, you need to head to the far side of the floor. As you make your way through, you'll find a room with a computer terminal next to a window, and a body slumped next to it. On the body, you'll find the Clearance Level 2 keycard.
You need to solve a puzzle to unlock this computer, and the information required for it is scattered on notes in this room and the next one. To get all the info you need, open the nearby locked door with your new keycard. In this room, you'll find out that the password is made up of a date and two additional numbers, just like in Jules's office.
The code is the date of two employees' anniversary, plus a couple more numbers that refer to one of Rudolph Lane's paintings. To figure out the number, you need to read the note that tells you where on the calendar the anniversary falls: "a week from Friday" during the week of September 14, 2023. If you go to the calendar on the wall, you can find the right date: September 22.
Another note states that the last two digits refer to the "Brown Shape with Horns" painting. You can find that on a list of paintings near the computer. Put them together and you get your password: 092225.
With the Security Clearance Level 2 keycard in-hand, you can now return to Sublevel 1 to pick up that spiffy gun Estevez commented on when she saw it through the window--the Black Rock Launcher. This is also the location of another password-protected computer, as well. Password 3: In the Black Rock launcher room, Floor -1
There aren't any notes in this room that reveal the password, but luckily, you only need to be observant to get it. When you log in, you might notice a little sticky note on the side of the screen. It has the password written on it. Input 021219 to unlock the computer. Password 4: Next to the south cell, Floor -2
On Sublevel 2, you'll find two big concrete cells. One of them housed Rudolph Lane, the painter Jules Mormont was studying as a way to make contact with the Threshold in Cauldron Lake--it's the one with the big piece cut out. In the other, if you go around the side, you can find Ed Booker, one of the two people who Saga Anderson questioned about seeing Robert Nightingale the night he was killed at the beginning of Alan Wake 2. If you're facing into Booker's window, the computer is right behind you.
As with the computer in the Black Rock launcher room, there aren't many clues sitting around for the password, but you don't need them. The user on this one was extremely lazy--they not only picked an extremely simple and obvious password, but they left it on a sticky note attached to the screen. Use the password 123456 to unlock this one. Password 5: In Dr. Diane Mormont's office, Floor -4
Once you nab the Clearance Level 3 keycard, you can head down to the lower floors of the Lake House, Sublevel 4 and Sublevel 5. Sublevel 4 is where Diana Mormont's office is located--almost the furthest she could possibly get from her husband, whose office is up on the ground floor. Once you make your way to the center of the Archives, check the desk on the left side of Diana's glass office to find her computer.
Diana was apparently too distracted with her growing rivalry with Jules to properly lock up her own machine, and once again, you only need to be observant to find this password. It's also stuck to the side of the screen, although the numbers have been scratched out and changed a few times. Punch 685298 into the computer to unlock the last machine. Not only will you get some more insights into Diana and Jules's deteriorating relationship, you'll also unlock the Hard Work Trophy/Achievement as well.
