All ESPN video content now on Xbox Live

Sports network's application adds all ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPNU, Buzzer Beater, and Goal Line programming for those with Gold subscription and participating cable affiliate.

Sports fans who were less than pleased with the programming available through Xbox Live's ESPN application are in luck. Microsoft has announced that Xbox Live's ESPN video streaming app has been updated with WatchESPN support. This means all ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPNU, Buzzer Beater, and Goal Line programming will be available.

Programming now available through ESPN on Xbox Live includes ESPN's flagship show SportsCenter, as well as other news-heavy programs like SportsNation and Mike & Mike in the Morning. In addition, the new ESPN Xbox Live app will allow users to live-stream ESPN's Monday Night Football each week during the NFL season.

The ESPN app for Xbox Live does come with two caveats. First, as was the case with the original ESPN Xbox Live app, users must hold an Xbox Live Gold subscription to access the content. Second, users must be a subscriber to one of ESPN's participating cable affiliates. These include Bright House Networks, Comcast Xfinity, Midcontinent Communications, Time Warner Cable, and Verizon FIOS.

Lastly, Microsoft announced that Xbox SmartGlass support for ESPN, NBA, and SportsPicks Xbox Live apps will be available in December. More information will be shared as launch approaches.
