2024 is right around the corner
2023 was a big year for Disney movies, but it will also be remembered for being the first time in years that no Disney made more than $1 billion at the global box office. Disney is hoping for better results in 2024, and now the company has announced its movie and TV show release slate for the next year--and there is a lot of content coming. This includes theatrical releases like Inside Out 2, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, and Mufasa: The Lion King. There are also plenty of Disney+ and Hulu TV shows coming, beginning with Echo Season 1 in January, followed by the new Star Wars shows The Acolyte and Skeleton Crew later in the year. One Star Wars TV show that is apparently not coming in 2024 is Andor Season 2. It was previously slated for release in August 2024, but it was not mentioned in Disney's 2024 slate, suggesting it was pushed to 2025. That's a bummer for fans eagerly awaiting what's expected to be the final season of the popular show. Disney's 2024 slate also includes films from its 20th Century banner, including the Omen prequel The First Omen and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
