It's Tuesday! Time for another round of "5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week"!

To kick off the new year properly, we've rounded up a bunch of promising new acts -- from a much-buzzed about U.K. electronica duo, to a soulful R&B chanteuse on the rise, to an experimental Brooklyn-bred pop princess doing it for herself. Oh, and a taste of what happens when one-half of LMFAO goes solo. (Hint: More party rocking.)

1.) AlunaGeorge, "Thinkin Bout You (Frank Ocean Cover)"

London-based duo AlunaGeorge were already gaining attention after being placed at No. 2 on the BBC's prestigious "Sound Of" list for 2013. And now, with their appearance on the BBC's 1Xtra Live Lounge, they're about to spend even more time in the spotlight. Along with premiering the title track from their upcoming debut, Body Music, the forward-thinking alt-dance duo performed a tight rendition of Frank Ocean's "Thinkin Bout You." Rife with hand claps, steel drum-esque synths, and Aluna's sugary crooning, the duo converts Ocean's track into one awfully sweet sounding affair.

2.) Midian, "Too Bad"

Rising R&B songstress Midian's throwback sound recalls some of the U.K.'s most talented chanteuses of the moment, including Emeli Sandé, Adele, and "X Factor" alum Rebecca Ferguson. "Too Bad" is one of the cuts from the singer's newly debuted self-titled EP, which you may have caught on an episode of VH1's "Love & Hip Hop." (The last time Midian appeared on the show with her song "Bitter," the track soared to No. 9 on the iTunes R&B/Soul chart.) "Too Bad" flaunts the soulful singer's pipes, along with a fair share of sass: "I am the best thing that you ever had/ You're gonna miss me, but that's too bad," she powerfully bellows. With raw talent like that, she's probably right.

3.) Moxiie, "Lay Down Your Crown"

Approximately one year after serving up her fantastically eclectic Jungle Pop EP (including the still amazing "Dancing in Dirt"), Brooklyn-based DIY popstress Moxiie returned at the tail end of 2012 with her newest release, Savage -- a collection of feisty, in-your-face pop anthems. "Lay Down Your Crown," the final offering from the set, sees Moxiie coming for wigs... and crowns: "Give it up, had a good run/ Jig is up/ Time to lay down your crown," she taunts on the spaced-out throbber, full of pulsing synthesizers and a fiery, intimidating energy. Pop princesses: You've been warned.

4.) Woman E, "You Stole That Summer (Bright Light Bright Light Remix)"

Woman E's "You Stole That Summer" is an unabashed slice of throwback, rave-tastic synth-pop, so it would only make sense that the rising electro-pop duo would enlist early '90s House-loving U.K. prince Bright Light Bright Light to remix it for their upcoming EP, Hit & Run. "And now it seems so long that you stole that summer from me," songstress Ria Berlin croons above Bright Light Bright Light's big piano chords and pulverizing synth pulsations, resulting in one utterly dreamy rework.

5.) Sky Blu featuring Mark Rosas, "Pop Bottles"

Really though, what would life be without a messy, bottle poppin' club anthem to kick off 2013? What's more: From a (former?) member of LMFAO, no less! Sky Blu, one-half of the party rockin' dance duo, is kicking off his own solo career with a brand-new single, "Pop Bottles." (Go with what you know, you know?) Co-produced by rising 23-year-old songwriter/DJ Mark Rosas, the stomping club track covers all the territory you'd expect from a LMFAO alum: hittin' the club, poppin' bottles, and makin' it rain. Poignant, just like an Adele classic.
