AMD Reveals Radeon RX 6000 Design In Fortnite–Yes, Really

In the world of PC gaming, AMD's Radeon cards are often noted more for their price point than their flashy designs, but the company's latest flagship GPU Radeon RX 6000 has a little more oomph than we're used to. It's black, it's red and it has three fans--let's be honest, GPUs aren't exactly bastions of unique visual design--and it certainly looks like something that you'd put in your computer to make it go faster. But if you want to get a closer look at it, you're going to have to boot up Fortnite.

Previous Radeon flagships have opted for a more functional look. As every PC gamer under the sun knows, this is AMD's response to the explosive reveal of Nvidia's 30-series RTX graphics cards, particularly the behemoth 3090, which will require three SLI slots and run you $1500. The 30-series is coming later in September, though the dates vary by the individual card, and shortages are likely.

A full render of the Radeon RX 6000 is available on AMD's custom Fortnite island with the ID 8651-9841-1639, because that's the world we live in now, I guess. The massive game recently added a Star Wars Squadrons items as a crossover and will add Nvidia RTX exclusive features later this week. The full RX 6000 series is expected to be revealed at an AMD event on October 28, which will come after the release of Nvidia's 30-series. As previously announced, these new AMD GPUs share the same architecture as the cards that power the upcoming PS5 and Xbox Series X.
