Welcome back to an all new AquaMonday! We have reached episode 25 of the AquaMonday project and we have plenty more on the horizon. This week we take a look at the high-end Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Aquaman (Comic Version) figure. This was a very highly anticipated figure for me, and I was counting the days waiting for his arrival. He shipped right around the holiday break and I actually missed getting him before I left on my vacation. I was glad he was still waiting for me when I got back! Take a look at the video below for my full thoughts on this figure… and while you are checking it out, please feel free to subscribe to our YouTube channel and click the bell so you’ll be notified when we upload our next videos!
I have been a fan of Mezco’s One:12 Collective line from the beginning, so I was very much looking forward to getting a comic book version of Aquaman in the line. As is typical of this line Mezco puts their own slight spin on the costume. That works really well in this case and makes for a unique Aquaman on the shelf and in the collection. The included stand is also great to break up the line of sight in the collection and any time you can make your Aquaman figure “swim” makes it a very good day. See below for the write up that Mezco did for the pre-order solicitation for the figure:
King of Atlantis. Ruler of Earth’s oceans. Founding member of the Justice League.
The One:12 Collective Aquaman comes outfitted in a scaled soft armor and finned Atlantean wet-suit, inspired from his classic comic look.
Featuring sculptural details such as an ‘A’ shaped belt buckle, gloves, boots, and neck line, Aquaman also includes three head portraits, shoulder armor that can harness his trademark weapon, “Neptune’s Trident”, and the Atlantean crown.
This hero-turned-king uses his super-strength, super-speed, command over sea life, and ability to live both on land and sea to protect his home, defend his kingdom, and fight for justice as one of Earth’s greatest heroes.
