Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 Raises More Money For Charity Than Ever Before

Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 has wrapped up in triumph, with the week-long speedrunning charity event ending with a huge amount of money earned for this year's charity, the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

The event raised $3,131,475 from over 54,000 individual donations, which came in from over 80 countries. This is the largest amount any single Games Done Quick event has ever brought in. Donations remain open on the site, if you'd still like to be a part of the event's charitable efforts.

The event ran for a week, from Monday, January 6 through to Sunday, January 12. It was attended by over 2750 people, and concurrent Twitch viewership peaked at 236,000.

An archive of highlights is available on the event's YouTube channel, Including Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas being completed in just over four hours, Amid Evil in 26:37, The Outer Worlds in 14:21, and A Hat in Time in 42:33.

Quite a few highlights are still missing from the page thanks to a technical issue, but they are being added over time. A full list of every game played during the marathon, and the times achieved, is available on their website.

This was the tenth anniversary Games Done Quick event, with the organization having raised over $25 million for charity in that time. The next live event, Summer Games Done Quick 2020, will happen from June 21 through 28. The 11th Awesome Games Done Quick event is already sent for January 3-10, 2021.
