“BATMAN: ASSAULT ON ARKHAM” ENJOYS SUCCESSFUL WORLD PREMIERE AT COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL;

DCU 2015 SLATE INCLUDES BRUCE TIMM ORIGINAL FILM

“Batman: Assault on Arkham ” enjoyed a rousing reception at its July 25 premiere at Comic-Con International, delighting a room of 4,250 fans for the screening and panel discussion amongst actors Kevin Conroy (Batman), Matthew Gray Gubler (Riddler), Troy Baker (Joker) and John DiMaggio (King Shark), and producer James Tucker, director Jay Oliva, screenwriter Heath Corson and dialogue director Andrea Romano.

When the government teams up a group of supervillains with the code name Suicide Squad and forces them to break into Arkham Asylum to bring back top secret information the Riddler has stolen, Batman soon becomes involved. But things go from bad to worse when one of the Squad (Harley Quinn) frees the Joker, who has the means to not only blow up the asylum, but most of Gotham City as well.

Toward the end of the panel, producer James Tucker announced the DCU slate for 2015:

- Coming in early 2015, the Aquaman origin story, “Justice League: Throne of Atlantis”

- Arriving sometime in the first half of 2015, “Batman vs. Robin,” which will feature the first-ever animated appearance of The Court of Owls.

- And potentially premiering at Comic-Con 2015 will be “Justice League: Gods and Monsters,” marking a return to the DCU films by animation legend Bruce Timm for this special film. Timm developed the original story and many of the character designs for “Justice League: Gods and Monsters,” and is producing the film.
