Do you like strange toys? Do you like hand-crafted, one of a kind pieces? Do you like to laugh? Then Battle Babies are for you!
Battle Babies are the brain-child of my friend Brad Rader, who raids his local Goodwills, garage sales and flea markets to find the plastic fodder that he uses to create his mash-up monstrosities – The Battle Babies!
Next month Brad and his Battle Babies will be featured in an art toy show at Toy du Jour. See below for more information and if you live in the area make sure you stop by and enjoy the madness!
What or who is Battle Babies?
First off, it’s not a what. He’s a person. His name is Brad Rader. Secondly, he’s a guy who loves toys and everything about them.
Not blessed with the desire or work ethic to study the fine arts or be properly trained by toy masters, Brad walks this earth alone like a toy art ronin making toys by his own rules.
Important info:
Come check out new works and smell the man himself during his gallery opening at Chicago’s Premier Trash Store. Junkfood and stuff you shouldn’t drink will be provided to distract you while we try to steal your wallet.
Unimportant info:
Brad hails from the sleepy little hamlet of Kingsport, TN. Raised by a pack of Bays Mountain wolves and taught ninja focus at the age of 11 by a middle school janitor named Perry.
