Are Going Up for Auction At Profiles in History’s Hollywood Auction 89 On June 26th, 27th and 28th in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES- May 30th, 2017– Profiles in History is proud to announce, the definitive collection of Battlestar Galactica and Buck Rogers spaceship filming miniatures, 23 space ships in total, are going up for auction during their three day Hollywood Auction 89 in Los Angeles.

This collection of 23 spaceships was assembled over a 25-year period by one Boston-based collector, Gary Cannavo. These are the spaceships that played an integral role in propelling audiences to far away lands and exciting adventures. These spaceships were designed and built by the creators who did the miniatures for Star Wars. This collections represent the last of the state of the art technology for miniatures before Hollywood switched to CGI.

It is the owners desire that the collection stay in tact, with the hope that they will be exhibited and enjoyed in a museum environment, so all 23 spaceships are being sold as a single lot. They are estimated to sell for $1,500,000 – $2,000,000.

Highlights from the collection include the screen used heart and soul of the Battlestar Galactica rag-tag fleet, the Galactica, picture at top, and the screen used, Battlestar Galactica Colonial Viper, pictured above on the right. From Buck Rogers, Buck’s screen used Star Fighter, pictured below on the left  and Buck’s screen used Ranger 3, pictured below on the right.
