Publisher confirms new zombie shooter does include "incomplete" free DLC that requires a download to access; all upcoming paid DLC not already on disc.
Capcom recently caught fire from fans who discovered on-disc Resident Evil 6 downloadable content. Now, the publisher has issued a statement admitting there is content already on game discs, but clarifying that it is free and "incomplete."
A Capcom representative explained on the company's blog that this free content--the No Hope difficulty mode and a new co-op partner--is "incomplete" because it will not work without an actual download. The two free DLC items will arrive through a title update "soon."
Concerning the previously announced Resident Evil 6 paid downloadable content, Capcom said these add-ons are not already on discs. New game modes Survivors, Predator, and Siege will be made available first on Xbox 360 before spreading to PlayStation 3.
Resident Evil 6 released last week and has shipped more than 4.5 million copies. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's review.
